Just over 70 years ago, in May 1937, the Stalinist counter-revolution took place against the gains made by the revolutionary workers of Spain and their organisations such as the anarcho-syndicalist CNT-FAI and the leftist POUM. Ultimately, this led to the collapse of the revolution and the loss of the civil war, ushering in years of fascist dictatorship.What was the role of the anarchists in all this and what can be learnt from this important moment in revolutionary working class history?
